Mississippian Melanie Calvert Benton chose to speak out about what it took to lose the weight that she had been struggling with most all her adult life. Mrs. Benton had tried Weight Watchers, Sugar Busters, Alli, with no help. The pounds mounted and she finally realized that if she was going to LIVE, that gastric bypass was her last option. Her story is one encouragement, hope and of letting the National Media know that Mississippi isn’t taking a back seat to obesity anymore.
