Best weight loss diet for a vegetarian?
I’m 5′2" (157cm), and i weigh 150 pounds (68). What is the best way for me to lose about 45 pounds (about 20kgs), being a vegetarian who eats indian food at home everyday??

If you are really looking for the best diet, I suggest doing what this mom did…

Lets just say i need to loose some weight.

don’t injur your body by taking any unnatural substances, whatever you do, just exercise everyday for about 30 minutes. aerobics, walking, running, playing basketball, pilates, something that makes you break a sweat. Eat right and drink plenty of water and you should have no problem losing that weight! Good luck to you!

Im trying to loose alot of weight, im not overweight im just average but im not happy with my body.. i diet and exercise but i don’t see a change.. i’d like to try some weight loss pills with great effect.. does anyone reccomend certain pills they use/used and it worked?

They burn your pockets, not your fat.. all they do is take away water weight.. Alli makes you poop yourself lol

Just do more cardio, that’s the secret.. 4-5 20 minute sessions to start and work your way up to 30-60 minutes at a time..

Of course if you went with diet pills, you might suffer from seizures or heart attacks.. sure it looks like a quick fix and you see lots of people using them but it speeds up your metabolism for a very short time because your body gets used to them.. so in the long run, you need them like you blood, just to stay the same rate your metabolism has always been.. or you’ll get fatter and fatter..

Chill on the pills, really.. not sayin anything toward you or anyone who’s ever thought about them because I have before.. but really, in all honesty, you don’t need the side effects and all the problems they’ll cause you down the road for a year of looking decent when you could look even better with dieting and exercise.. it takes a lot more commitment on exercising but it pays off 10x more and you’re healthier in the long run.. isn’t that what you want? instead of 5 years later you’re on the pills on wondering why you’re gaining weight?

Good dieting, I’m sure you do though..anything with boneless skinless chicken breast..

My diet consists of stuff like:
Peanut Butter
Fish
Almonds, Cashews, ect…
Turkey, Chicken breast.. the boneless skinless kind.. lean red meats..
Lots of beans and legumes..
Eggs.. lots of them.. i usually use about 4 or 5 egg whites and 1 whole egg.. eggs are actually easy to seperate if you crack the egg in your hand and move it around from one hand to another and eventually the yolk will still be there..
And fruits, veges… I eat fiber one bars sometimes, and I always drink 2 protein shakes a day.. one after breakfast, one before bed/working out.. those are key for my diet..

If you wanna tone up.. you need to do cardio man, there’s no way around it.. believe me, we’ve all tried.. lyposuction only lasts so long lol

My advice.. don’t eat refined sugars, too much white or other bread unless it’s 100% whole grain.. yeah the stuff isn’t too good, but the white bread is a lot harder to process than the good stuff.. makes you fatter.. and if you want fiber, fruits and veges.. they also have hidden benefits in them you might not have realized, google certain benefits and you may find yourself eating them more often. It’s hard to do, but do it.. They help you feel fuller, longer and are best ate w/ the chicken or turkey or if you’re a vegetarian.. tofu/beans..

5-7 small meals a day, and a protein shake can be one of them.. low calorie recipes.. man, there are so many.. check out the abs diet online.. you’ll find a lot of appetizing meals in there. best of luck, lmk if u need anything else

I’ve been trying to loose weight the normal way but im not really makin any progress. Every time i loos a pound or 2 i gain it right back the next day. So ive pretty much given up on the whole eating right and exercising thing bc i mean obviously its not working. Im a 100 lbs overweight and this is my last option.

They go back 5 years for the insurance my nephew has to document the health issues. If you have been complaining of a bad back, bad ankles or other weight related problems and have tried everything else they may pay for it.

If you have the surgery it will mean a diet for life. Over eating will cause serious problems so you can only eat a few ounces of food at a time. If you over eat you will regain the ablitity to overeat and gain back the weight. My nephew’s wife had it and it was very painful and she was hungry all the time but couldn’t eat. She lost a lot of weight then started gaining it back. Now she is big again but not as big as before.

Make sure you give diet a real chance before you risk your life with this major surgery.

I have lost weight over the past year by changing eating habits and exercising. I’m looking to set better eating habits but need help with the right foods. I hate to cook. :)

yogurt is said to be good. look at the serving size on the back of the container (usually 1/2 to 1 cup) or buy the single serving size.

I had my first child in march of 2007 then in june of 2007 i started on the depo prevera birth control shot. between both of these I gained 55 pounds. I am 5′8 and 215 pounds Ive been on a low calorie low fat diet with exercize since I had my son and nothing helps.

I think you are eating simple carbs and possibly not enough calories, and your metabolism has slowed down.

Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy. Brisk walking is great for burning body fats.

It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.

Details such as my experience, meals, snacks, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog

I went to a local weight loss center and the Dr there prescribed these pills for me. I’m taking 50 mg topamax per day and a water pill. I’ve lost 14 lbs in 6 weeks (YEAH!!) but starting to worry about side effects and getting off the medication. Also concerned about what my "real" Dr will say. Comments?? Suggestions??

My personal opinion —> get off the topomax! that medication has WAY to many sideaffects…

http://www.topamax.com/topamax/how-topamax-may-help–what-to-expect.html

check that out…

I was on i believe the same dose, but for migraines, and I had to get off of it because not only would it not allow me to focus, but just the list of side effects scared me…. I beleive I actually gained wieght on it…

Talk to your doctor… If you need to lose weight, then he/she will perscribe you something or more liekly help you devise a diet plan that is healthy and will not adversely effect you or any other medications you might be on…

In ketosis the presence of carbs are null so your body is using fat as the primary fuel (energy) source. If high protein intake is taken, would running burn fat or fat+muscle?

Try the Lil Jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezris it really helps

lose Weight?

Sep-30-2009 By admin

i am 14 ,currently a student, weight ard 81kg/170+lbs, i want to lose weight constantly , dunnid to be fast, due to my studies , there isn’t really any chance to exercise, wat other ways can i do to lose weight?

ok heres what i suggest, i had the same problem , i am 16 and i got up to 190 lbs and now im at 160, i want t oloose like 10 more but generally i am happy. First Drink WATER all the time . like 4 or 5 nalgiene ( really big) waterbottles full. Do not drink anything carbonated and try and cut out ALL PRESERVITAVES these hold onto fat and make you hungrier. And so you keep the weight off allow yourself to have say 1 juice glass full of soda a week or 1 piece of cake or somthing that wat you wont feel deprived at all. Next you said you dont really have time to workout, ok thats fine but say your going to school park as far from the door as possible and speed walk EVERYWHERE it will be a way of getting a little bit of exercise eventhough you dont really have the time. Or you can do somthing lik ebuy DDR (www.ddrgame.com) and do one or two sets a day (like 10-15 minutes).
Another thing that greatly helped me was walking around naked every chance i got. I know it sounds weird but it helped me to be more comfortable with my body and realize that if i diddnt like somthing it wasnt going to magically change i had to work to make a difference and every small difference was noticable. And the last piece of advice i have to you is when you wake up every morning look into the mirror and say out loud one thing you love about your body or your personality. Having self confidence really helps you stick to what u gotta do. Believe me befor i started doing all that i would get depressed and loose the drive to do somthing about the way i was. It diddnt happen overnight either, it took almost 5 months but it is a safe and healthy way to loose weight and fast
I hope this helps you

okay i know i’m fat and i want to do something about it. I want to get abs and loss the fat on my legs but how do i do it? what exercises will help me? i know to stop drinking soda and drink water, i’m already doing that. I just need a few tips and exercises to get started i want to get into a bikinii by the end of this summer. but i don’t want to take pills or anything (gross)

I agree with the former!
You need to work up your heart beat
through cardio..
Which can include bycicling!
Running, swimming laps and so on!
Crunches are no good until
the layer of fat over your stomach has decreased, because then you just get muscle under your fat and you then push it out more!
Cardio, cardio!
Switching up work out works best and increasing the difficulty so that it is always challenging is a must!
Eat well, lots of protein, fiber and don’t foget those dreaded carbohydrytes. Just have a balanced diet! and make sure you burn more than you eat!
There is a calorie counter that will help you do the job even recommend work outs and give you ideas!
